For example, if you plan to pursue Medicine, you might choose Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. If you are inclined towards Engineering, you might select Physics or chemistry, and skip Biology if you prefer. The maximum number of subjects a student can take are 14. Usually high performing students choose up to 9 subjects and a few exceptional students choose 11 or more subjects.

Cambridge IGCSE offers flexibility with Core and Extended curriculum for many subjects. The Core curriculum provides a broad overview ensuring foundational knowledge, while the Extended curriculum includes all Core content plus additional material designed for more academically inclined students.

In some subjects, such as Mathematics and Science, high-achieving students may take “Extended” or “Higher” examinations to earn top grades.
