Summary
Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) or Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) is a powerful tool for studying systems with unpaired electrons - paramagnetic ions. EPR is defined on the absorption of Electromagnetic Radiation, or microwave radiation. EPR of a paramagnetic sample when placed inside a magnetic field can help determine the identity, oxidation, and spin states of paramagnetic ion(s) and study the interactions of paramagnetic ion(s) with the lattice. DPPH (1,1 -diphenyl-2-picryl-hydrazyl) spectroscopy is done at room temperature, while MnCl2/Water solvent spectroscopy is done at temperatures as low as 100K. For this paper, samples were analyzed using a Varian E-3 X-Band EPR Spectrometer. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the spectra of DPPH and MnCl2 samples using the following parameters: g-factor, line widths, and hyperfine constants. Post-analysis, measurements of experimental accuracy were made for each parameter, followed by the detection of random and systematic errors. Moreover, suggestions were made for improvements to the setup, and tactics to minimize errors were discussed to ensure the most accurate data.

Summary
Electron Paramagnetic Resonance Spectroscopy is an experimental procedure where a paramagnetic sample is kept in a magnetic field and exposed to microwave radiation. At a specific magnetic field, the energy required to jump from the normal state of the electrons on that sample to the excited state is the same as the energy being provided by the radiation. Hence the electrons absorb the energy and attain the higher state. This absorption can be detected. By looking at what magnetic field allowed for this jump, it is possible to determine several properties about the sample. In this paper, this technique is used on DPPH and MnCl2 samples. The results have then been compared to the expected known values for those samples. In the case of DPPH, the results obtained line up with the expected values and properties. In the case of MnCl2, while measurements such as the number of hyperfine lines observed coincide with the expected ones, the hyperfine constant observed does not match the expected value. The temperature has been identified as a potential reason for this discrepancy.

Summary
Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) or Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) is employed to study systems with unpaired electrons, such as free radicals and transition metal ions. EPR provides valuable information about the structure and interactions of paramagnetic species within the system. In this study, EPR spectra of DPPH and MnCl2/H2O were analyzed to determine the paramagnetic species present. The g-factor, calculated as 0.71449 v(GHz)/B(kG), plays a crucial role in characterizing the samples. The investigation revealed multiple EPR peaks in MnCl2/H2O, suggesting the presence of diverse paramagnetic centers. However, the calculated average g value deviated significantly from the expected value, indicating a potential miscalculation of magnetic field values during the sweep range analysis. To ensure accuracy, the researchers recommended reevaluating the calculations and methodology. These findings contribute to a deeper understanding of paramagnetism and its potential applications in various scientific fields. Further research into MnCl2/H2O's properties holds promising prospects for un-king new insights into paramagnetic phenomena.
