The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is a public research university located in London, England and a constituent college of the federal University of London. Sidney Webb, Beatrice Webb, Graham Wallas, and George Bernard Shaw founded the London School of Economics (LSE) in 1895. LSE joined the University of London in 1900 and launched its first-degree programmes under the university’s aegis in 1901. LSE is frequently referred to as a component of the “golden triangle” of research institutions in the southeast of England. It is a member of the Russell Group, Association of Commonwealth Universities, and European University Association.
The LSE is one of eight European universities that make up CIVICA, The European University of Social Sciences, a network dedicated to social scientific research. The main LSE campus is located in Westminster near Clare Market and Houghton Street. The Royal Courts of Justice, all four Inns of Court, the Royal College of Surgeons, Sir John Soane’s Museum, and the West End are all close by. The campus also borders the City of London, and Trafalgar Square and the Houses of Parliament are both accessible on foot from the West End. King George V laid the Old Building’s foundation in 1920. The campus now occupies an almost continuous group of around 30 buildings.

REQUIREMENTS
To apply for a full-time undergraduate programme at LSE, students first need to make an online application via the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service – UCAS. Undergraduate study at LSE is for students who hold an accepted qualification equivalent to an A-level.
A) Following are the A-Levels requirements and its equivalent to Indian CBSE and CISCE Boards:

Mathematics A*/A | A mark of 95 per cent in Mathematics for programmes requiring an ‘A*’ in A-level Mathematics. A mark of 90 per cent in Mathematics for programmes requiring an ‘A’ in A-level Mathematics. For programmes offered by the Department of Mathematics, Standard Math is required. For all other programmes that require the equivalent of A level Math, Standard Math is preferred but both Standard and Applied Math are acceptable. |
B) International Baccalaureate (IB) Requirements – Offers at LSE are based on overall points score in combination with individual scores in each of the Higher-level subjects being taken into consideration. The entry requirements for LSE starts from 37 points overall (with three Higher level subjects at grades 6 6 6) to 38 points overall (with three Higher level subjects at grades 7 6 6).
C) Statement of Purpose (SOP) – It is a very important part of UCAS Application. It helps the LSE admission committee get an insight into who you are and whether you’d be a good fit for the course you’re applying to. The SOP should cover the students’ career aspirations, how they developed an interest in their subject, any relevant work or research experience related to their subject and their plans. You can only submit one personal statement for the five courses and universities you have applied for.
D) Letter of Recommendation (LOR) – The reference letter(s) is/are usually provided by the teachers that have observed the student closely; it includes the aspects of the applicant’s growth trajectory in the subjects, accomplishments and interest shown, and any remarkable accomplishments highlighting their expertise in the field. LSE requires two LORs.
E) Entrance Tests – LSE has two compulsory entrance tests required by the academic departments of Law, and Mathematics. These are:
Law National Admissions Test (LNAT) This test is taken to study a law degree (LLB), as part of your application process. The test provides additional information about applicants’ aptitude for the study of law and is intended to be used alongside existing assessments to make fair admissions decisions.
Tests of Mathematics for University Admission (TMUA) This test is taken to study any course offered by the Department of Mathematics, as part of your application process.LSE has not made the test compulsory but it is strongly recommended by the university as it helps give an edge to the overall application.
